KENMORE, N.Y. (WKBW) Thousands of people lined Delaware Avenue for the annual Kenmore Memorial Day Parade.

The Kenmore-Tonawanda parade is one of the largest in the area being sponsored by local American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars' posts.

Because of concerns over the Boston marathon bombings, police presence at the parade was very noticeable and larger than previous years.

We can't make anything 100% safe but we'll take every step we can to make sure it is as safe as we can make it, " said Lt. Nick Bado from the Town of Tonawanda Police.

Police from several agencies helped with security and no incidents were reported.

Other Memorial Day parades were held in Clarence and Amherst.
