China's Ministry of Culture has ordered music download websites to delete songs by Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Katy Perry and the Backstreet Boys, deeming them threats to "cultural national security," according to a story in the New York Times.

Officials want a list of 100 songs removed from Chinese websites by September 15. The list also includes songs by artists from Hong Kong and Taiwan, according to the report.
