HAMBURG, NY (WKBW-TV) - September 11, 2012 put an end to life as Caleb Bantin-Barney knew it.
The carefree 19 year old—and his 18 year old girlfriend—were critically injured in a serious car accident on Route 20 in Hamburg when the driver of another car hit them head on.
Caleb spent months rehabilitating at ECMC, and was finally able to return home.
Despite his progress, all is not back to normal for Caleb. He still needs more corrective surgeries and months more physical therapy. Significantly, his home has needed many modifications to accommodate Caleb.
The accident has taken its toll on the Bantin-Barney Family. Collections raised at the Benefit will pay off medical bills, and help with needed housing renovations and living expenses.
“We are so grateful that Caleb made it,” said his mother, Heather Barney “but we have had to adjust to a new way of life. Most important is that Caleb is happy and on the road to recovery. We thank our friends, our family and the Western New York community for their support. What we cannot do alone—we can do together.”
All are encouraged to attend the Benefit on January 26th from 1:00 until 6:00 pm at the Ironworkers Hall, 196 Orchard Park Road, West Seneca. Tickets are $20. A Chinese Auction will be held. Food, Beer and Pop will all be served, and the band Paleface will perform.
