BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - The historic Statler Towers will soon be reborn as a city within a city when the remodeled Statler City opens next month.
The lobby, basement nightclub and banquet rooms will be fully operational by year's end, according to Mark Croce.
Croce, a developer and restaurateur, saved the building from an uncertain future earlier this year.
"Our first actual wedding is scheduled for this Oct. 8 so we're moving at warp speed," he said.
Croce is planning to bring the Ice Ball New Year's Eve celebration back to the 107-year-old building.
"We're talking about planning something to be upwards of four or five thousand people -- we're going to do a giant package -- it'll be announced shortly, there'll be presale tickets -- it's going to be a big gala affair," he said.
