Utica, N.Y. (WKBW) – A woman in Utica, New York was taken into custody after trying to eat flesh while allegedly high on “Bath Salts."
Police said the woman lunged at an officer and tried to bite him, yelling, “I want to kill someone and eat them.”

Stories like these are becoming more and more common. The synthetic drug known as “Bath Salts” is blamed for some strange behavior across the country. The most high profile case is where a homeless man had his face bitten off by another man in Miami.

There are 17 chemicals used to produce “Bath Salts," and experts argue the stimulant in it causes people to lose control and turn violent. New York State has already banned the ingredients that are in “Bath Salts," along with synthetic Marijuana. There is also a federal bill pending in Congress, which would ban “Bath Salts” and its dangerous ingredients.

As for the Utica woman in this most recent case, she was taken into custody and is now undergoing a mental evaluation. Her name has not been released, and she could face criminal charges.
