CHEEKTOWAGA, NY (WKBW-TV) - A small plane closed down the entrance to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport around 2:54pm Thursday.

Officials say a father and son, 39 year old Bing Shen and his 6 year old son Qiain Shen chartered a plane from Prior Aviation to go on a sight seeing tour presumably over Niagara Falls.

Officials report that when the plane got around 300 feet in the air it lost power and crash landed into bushes and skidded into Preferred Parking Lot A.

There were no cars or people in the area of the crash.

The Shens were not injured but the pilot, 31 year old Anastasiia Goldowsky, a certified flight instructor was taken to ECMC for observation only.

Prior Aviation declined to comment on the incident.

Air travel was not impacted by the crash.
