On Thursday, Buffalo Public School #53 on Roehrer Avenue reopened its doors after a $17 million reconstruction project.

The school had been closed for two years during the project.

The construction was part of the Phase Five $1.4 billion Joint Schools Reconstruction Project taking place across the Queen City.

Some of the new features include a new synthetic gym floor, refurbished auditorium and a library with a new computer lab.
