Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW release) -- An army of staff and volunteers is hard at work, transforming the parking lot at 786 Delaware Avenue into “base camp” for BASH*2012. Tents and other provisions are being readied for the 14th annual military-themed event, taking place this Friday, June 1st.
According to a news release:
Over 4,000 people will wear their best military gear to the American Red Cross headquarters at 786 Delaware Avenue to enjoy food and drink from some of the area’s best restaurants while dancing the night away to the music of the DJs from Signature Entertainment and a live performance by the one and only Lance Diamond. Guests will also have the opportunity to bid on dozens of unique auction items donated by members of the Western New York community, including vacations, original works of art, jewelry and much more. All proceeds from BASH*2012 will stay right here to support the American Red Cross, Serving Erie & Niagara Counties’ mission of preventing, preparing for and responding to disasters in Western New York.
Thanks to events such as The BASH and the support of the Western New York community, Red Cross volunteers were able to provide immediate emergency assistance including temporary housing, food, clothing and support to approximately 40 Buffalo residents displaced by six separate fires during the Memorial Day weekend.
