(WKBW release) The Erie County Sheriff's Office investigating Services and Professional Standards Divisions are continuing their investigation into an inmate-on-inmate assault that allegedly occurred inside the Erie County Holding Center on Tuesday night.
According to a news release:
The "Echo" housing deputy was conducting the required observation safety checks on the high side of the unit when he heard some yelling and banging come from the short side of the housing unit. The deputy immediately responded to that area and discovered a 49-year-old male inmate lying on the ground. The inmate was subsequently transported to the Erie County Medical Center for treatment.
Inmate Tyshawn Ball, 19, was charged with assault in the second degree and will be arraigned in Buffalo City Court.
