BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - A former attorney and law professor was sentenced for DWI in court Friday.

Anne Adams pleaded guilty to DWI, falsifying documents and tampering with evidence stemming from her September 2008 arrest.

Adams was sentenced to a total of 31 days in jail plus three years probation. Adams will spend four weekends in prison to complete her jail sentence.

Adams' friend, State Supreme Court Justice Joseph Makowski resigned in February of 2009 after he told prosecutors that Adams was not drunk when she was arrested in September of 2008.

Attorneys for Adams are expected to file an appeal.
