Attica Prisoner Arrested for Allegedly Slashing Fellow Inmate's Face

ATTICA, N.Y. (WKBW) - A 30-year-old Attica prisoner was arrested on April 18th for allegedly attacking another inmate with an edged metal weapon in December of 2012.

Police say Alexander Screahben attacked a fellow inmate by slashing his face, resulting in over 25 sutures to close up the wound.

At the time of the incident, Screahben was serving a sentence at Attica for Robbery in Bronx, N.Y.

Scraehben was charged with Assault, Promoting Prison Contraband, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon. He was arraigned on the new charges in Wyoming County Court.

He is currently incarcerated at Southport Correctional in Pine City.
