Asst. Superintendent of Grant Department Under Review

Rumors are circulating that grant money for the Buffalo Public School System may have been mismanaged by the Assistant Superintendent, Diane Buckley, of the district's Office of Federal and State Programs.

Board members held a special meeting to discuss Buckley's performance Wednesday night.

The board is remaining tight lipped about the details of the meeting which was closed to the public. After the meeting, the Board referred all questions to their attorney, Karl Kristoff,

"At this juncture the best I can say is that there was some information presented that made the superintendent conclude that an administrative leave would be appropriate. Beyond that I'm really not at liberty to comment because there has been no investigation of this yet and it really would be unfair to everyone concerned," said Kristoff.

Kristoff went on to say the board has discussed the idea of bringing in an independent party to investigate the situation. But at this time no decision has been made to that regard.

The board voted Wednesday night to delay any action on the issue with Buckley until their next regular meeting which will take place Wednesday, September 14th.
