Lewiston, N.Y. (WKBW release) -- Artpark is springing into spring with a giant leap, and is poised to launch a season that will undoubtedly be the most exciting since Artpark opened in 1974.
According to a news release issued Tuesday:
President George Osborne revealed the new plans in the following statement:
“Artpark has experienced an incredible run of successes over the past ten years both in audience growth and quality of programming, particularly with our Tuesday and Wednesday concerts and our family programs. As these programs have grown the demand for improved facilities from our patrons has escalated. Our patrons have spoken and we have listened. On June 19, a vastly improved amphitheater will open with the first concert of the ‘First Niagara presents Tuesday in the Park’ series thanks to more than five years of work by the Artpark & Company Board of Directors and staff and the New York State Parks staff. This virtually new facility has been designed to infinitely improve the patron experience with enhanced views of the stage, new walkways, a grand staircase, and easier and safer access. Other upgrades include new service areas for concessions, a new restroom building, and an enlarged and improved Sponsor area.
"In response to our patrons’ concerns about overcrowded conditions for Tuesday concerts, the venue has now been fenced and access will be controlled by charging a small admission. We believe you will agree that it is a small price to pay to make your experience not only safer, but more enjoyable and to keep those “big name” acts coming to Artpark on Tuesday evenings. Details of the new ticketing policy follows in the body of this press release below, but we promise you that when our full Tuesday lineup is announced on May 15, you will share our excitement and immediately want to queue up to get tickets to all of our Tuesday concerts.”
During the 2012 summer Artpark & Company will present twelve ‘Tuesday in the Park’ concerts (June 19 – September 4). In a new format, the Tuesday concerts will require a general admission ticket to access the amphitheater. Tuesday concert tickets will be $5 in advance, and $10 week of the concert (Sunday-Tuesday ticket purchases), with select Tuesday concerts ticketed at $10 in advance and $15 week of the concert (Sunday-Tuesday ticket purchases). Artpark will offer ‘front of stage’ priority tickets again for each concert event: $25 (standing room only). Tuesday concert tickets will be limited, and will be available in advance at the Artpark Box Office, by phone at 716-754-4375 or 1-888-223-6000, and online at tickets.com and artpark.net. Note: phone and online ticket orders are subject to $1.75 handling fee per ticket. Handling fee will be waived on tickets purchased in person at the Artpark Box Office (Open Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm).
The ‘Coors Light Wednesday’ concerts will continue to be free: tickets will only be required for ‘Tuesday in the Park’ concerts.
Parking fees in Artpark lots on Tuesday nights will be reduced to $5 with $3 parking for motorcycles. Coors Light Wednesday free concerts parking will be $10, with $6 motorcycle parking.

Concert tickets for both events are $5 and go on sale Monday March 26th at 10:00AM.
