Arrest Made After Assault Near G.I. Bridge

NYSP ( release ) New York State Police have announce an arrest tied to an assault and stabbing incident on October 30, 2011 on the I-190, near the Grand Island Bridges in the Town of Tonawanda

Thursday, the State Police out of SP Buffalo arrested Bert e> Schroeder of Buffalo for Assault 2nd (Class D Felony), Menacing 2nd (Class A Misdemeanor), and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th (Class A Misdemeanor) after an investigation into this incident:

Schroeder was processed at SP Buffalo and then taken for an arraignment in the Town of Tonawanda Court.

State Police released information earlier this week reporting an accident between two vehicles that occurred around 9:00p.m. Sunday night.

Both vehicles pulled over onto the left shoulder of the I-190.

One of the drivers involved, a white male subject described as being between 60 -70 years of age, very thin, 6’ to 6’2” tall, wearing tan pants and a tan jacket did pull out a knife and did stab the other driver several times on the neck and back.

The victim was transported by ambulance to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and then transferred to the Erie County Medical Center with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The male suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle described as an older model, gold or copper colored four door sedan, possibly a Dodge that had New York State special license plates displaying a Purple Heart logo.
