BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - Western New York food trucks are expected to be granted temporary permission to operate in the immediate vicinity of First Niagara Center during the NCAA tournament.
On Wednesday, Mayor Byron Brown made a written request to Buffalo Place asking that the city of Buffalo’s food trucks be permitted to operate during the tournament, to give visitors a greater choice of dining experiences.
Brown also asked that the special permits be conditioned upon compliance with the “100 foot rule," meaning no truck can sell its within 100 feet of an existing restaurant.
“Our food trucks add to the great Buffalo flavor that people have come to know in our city," said Brown. "We believe they will add to the positive experiences of our out-of-town visitors.”
