Applications for jobless benefits across the nation hit a four year low last week.

The U.S. Labor Department says weekly applications dropped 5,000; to the lowest level since February of 2008.

Most analysts say when applications for benefits fall to these levels that usually means hiring is picking up. Employers have added an average of 245,000 jobs a-month from December through February.
