(Amherst, N.Y.) After the recent death of two people caused by a car driving into a restaurant, the Town of Amherst is looking for ways to make parking along storefronts safer.

The Town Board will be considering two ideas submitted by Town Councilmember, Guy Marlette, and Supervisor Barry Weinstein.

The first, will require some future constructions to install a parking barrier in front of their business.

A second idea, deals with changing parking in front of businesses to parallel from the current perpendicular.
