BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - The Buffalo Board of Education named Amber Dixon to become the district's interim superintendent following the departure next month of Dr. James Williams.
Dixon, a 20 year veteran of the district, said she is ready for the challenge.
"I'm going to be the kind of interim superintendent who gets the job done," she said.
Dixon will take over after Williams departs on September 15.
Williams announced his retirement last week after some members of the board threatened to terminate his contract.
