Alleged White House Shooter Faces Attempted Assassination Charge

According to the New York Times, the 21-year-old Idaho man arrested Wednesday in connection with a shooting last week during which a pair of bullets struck the White House, was charged in federal court Thursday with trying to assassinate President Obama.

The man, who was arrested in Pennsylvania on Wednesday, will be returned to Washington to face the charges, according to the Times story. President Obama was not at the White House at the time of the shooting, according to the Times report.
