Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW)- One-year-old Diamond the Pit Bull has been recovering at the SPCA from a violent beating that was all caught on video and posted to You Tube. The video has since been taken off the website, pending an investigation.

"I saw the video and I felt sick to my stomach, felt like I had to throw up," dog owner Shannon Tirado said.

Shannon Tirado claims to be Diamonds owner and that the man who beat the puppy was David Roman, 32, her brother. Roman was arraigned in Buffalo City Court, Tuesday, pleading "not guilty" to a Misdemeanor Animal Cruelty charge.

"This dog was repeatedly kicked. Pulled forward, called then kicked as soon as he sat. On the group pummeled, she never once tried to bite or fight back," SPCA Executive Director Barbara Carr said.

Gina Browning with the SPCA said the dog suffered bruises and cuts but she worry there may be other injuries.

"We're hoping that she is doing as well internally as she appears externally. Were there other types of abuse that didn't appear on that tape? It appears there's a suggestion of that and that is what we're working hard to determine," Browning said.

SPCA officials said that Diamond is doing well and seems happy, even after all that she's been through.

As for Diamond's alleged abuser, he will remain behind bars from now until Monday, pending tests ordered by the judge. Then, his bail will be set at $10 thousand.
