Cheektowaga, NY (WKBW) - The Buffalo Niagara International Airport welcomes a new Visitors Center inside the airport.

The new store in the airport hopes to bring tourists to the Buffalo area.

It showcases Niagara Falls, downtown Buffalo and the many different things to do in Western New York.

Visit Buffalo CEO Dottie Gallagher-Cohen says "Our goal is to get people coming into the market to get them around where they need to be and help them know the great things that are happening here."

The visitors center is also trying to attract Canadians who use the airport to promote Buffalo as a destination and not just a stop to travel through.

Mugs and t-shirts, many designed by Western New Yorkers, are in the center.

These souveniers help the Visitors Center break even.

Gallagher-Cohen explains "If we do break even then we will re-invest that money to promote the tourism industry."
