CHEEKTOWAGA, NY (WKBW) - Construction is underway on the arrival and departure traffic lanes outside the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
The $1.4 million project is being paid for by state and federal funds along with a portion of the airport usage fee attached to the sale of every plane ticket.
Construction will be done mostly at night with daytime lane restrictions in the area where motorists pick up and drop off passengers just outside the terminal.
NFTA officials said people can park for free in the Cell Phone Lot on Holtz Road and wait for passengers to arrive, which should ease congestion.
The project will be finished in August.
