Cheektowaga, NY (WKBW)- Villa Maria College in Cheektowaga hosted Dr. Lisa Barrow, an author and healthy workplace consultant, to speak on workplace and student bullying. Barrow has done extensive research on bullying and its effects on both the young and old. She's also been fighting to get tougher laws on the books.

"There needs to be policies in place within every school," said Barrow. "They aren't just suppose to be on the wall, but in our hearts and we should live them day by day."

Barrow believes change starts at home by teaching kids core values. This includes respect and acceptance. Lawmakers are already considering rules and regulations against bullying and harrassment at school, along with mandatory training for teachers on the topic.
