An elderly man was arraigned this morning on an indictment charging him with manslaughter.

On November 26th, 2012, 87-year-old Chester Rusek allegedly beat his roommate, 86-year-old Salvatore Trusello, at the Kenwell DePaul Assisted Living Center in the Town of Tonawanda.

Authorities say Rusek severely beat Trusello by striking him repeatedly with a heavy magnet.

Trusello spent the next month in the Intensive Care Unite at ECMC, where he died from his injuries on December 27th.

If convicted, Rusek faces up to 25 years in prison.
