WELLSVILLE, N.Y. (WKBW) - With the snip of a ribbon, the new $5.5 million Lufkin Industries manufacturing facility officially opened in Wellsville Tuesday.

The company, which manufactures rotating equipment such as pumps, turbines, and compressors, just expanded to a facility near the Wellsville Airport. The original site was located in Downtown Wellsville.

The new expansion creates more than 80 jobs in the area. Lufkin, part of GE Oil and Gas, is increasing their workforce by more than 13 percent.

Lufkin's multi-million dollar expansion and the creation of close to 100 jobs, is expected to infuse hundreds of thousands of dollars into Wellsville's economy.

Residents we spoke to could not be more excited for the boost.
