Seven years ago on February 12, Continental Airlines Flight #3407 fell out of the sky in Clarence Center, killing all on board and one on the ground.
There has always been a dispute over how many actually died that night. Forty-nine passengers and one man in his Clarence Center home where the plane crashed. But there was another victim that night. One of the passenger's was pregnant and her unborn baby also perished. The federal government does not recognize that fact when it comes to the official death toll.
The Flight 3407 Family Group has fought for seven years now for tougher flight safety regulations, especially when it comes to pilot experience and training. Many of their proposals are now law, thanks to an act of Congress.
The families continue to make the trek to Washington on a regular basis, fighting to make sure the new regulations and rules are not watered down or changed, something the airline industry keeps lobbying for.
As we mark the 7th year since the crash, we pay a video tribute to all those who perished that dreadful night.
