LACKAWNNA, N.Y. (WKBW)- Our Lady of Victory Basilica in Lackawanna celebrated the 77th Annual Father Baker Day Sunday.
This marks the anniversary of the Priest's death in 1936.
The church held a special mass to honor the man that gave all of himself to help the poor and those in need, especially young children.
Hundreds came out to honor his legacy.
"Father Baker who is our local hero teaches us what we can be by his holiness," said Msgr. Paul Burkard. "One person can change the lives of a lot of people if we just put our minds and our hearts into it."
Father Baker is on the road to Sainthood.
