We’re learning more about a former University at Buffalo employee now at the center of a bribery investigation.
According to the Erie County District Attorney’s office, 63-year-old Dean Yerry, who was once the maintenance supervisor on campus, rigged the bidding process on two painting contracts in exchange for a one hundred thousand dollar bribe. The painting contracts were worth $1 million dollars.

Investigators said it happened between December 2012 and November 2014. Yerry retired from the university in 2014 before the charges came to light. If convicted, he could face a maximum of 15 years in prison.

Parents in Depew got some hands on car seat safety advice on Saturday.

New York state troopers and Depew police were on hand at the Wegmans on George Urban Boulevard to check infant car seats. Officers inspected car seats to make sure they were properly installed. Troopers wouldn’t let anyone go home in an unsafe seat. Experts say children under three years old should be placed in a rear facing car seat.
