Fire Tears Through Student Apartments in Alfred, NY

Alfred, NY (WKBW) -- A massive fire in the village of Alfred in Allegany County tore through a building housing students and businesses.

The fire started around 6:30 a.m. Thursday morning in a building near the Alfred University Campus. Officials tell Eyewitness News that 11 students were inside at the time, and that all got out of the building safely.

University officials are currently working with those students to arrange temporary housing.
