Buffalo, NY (WKBW) -- The Southern Tier of Western New York and portions of Northwestern Pennsylvania will be hit with another round of early winter weather today.

In the City of Salamanca, road crews were out all night clearing about an inch of snow from local highways.

In Ski Country, they're celebrating the early return of snow. The Village of Ellicottville received a few inches of snow and more is on the way.

The Town of Carrollton, near the Pennsylvania border, received some of the biggest snow totals last night and this morning -- almost three inches of snow fell.

"So we had our plows and sanders ready in case we did get hit pretty hard," said highway superintendent Michael Fox. "I was out from about 2:30 a.m. until now checking roads."

Fox said the town experienced some downed trees and power lines. He reminds motorists who are traveling in the Southern Tier today to use caution.

While most roads are clear of snow, many are still wet and drivers could experience some slick spots, Fox said.
