(Buffalo, NY) -- We are less than one week away from the opening of America's Fair, the Erie County Fair held in Hamburg, NY starting next Wednesday.

Today the Fair announced the Ultimate Fair-goer for 2009. Marion Wittmeyer from Lawtons, New York has received the honor. Marion was nominated by her daughter, Marcia Duffy, who knew that her mothers’ long running dedication to the Fair made her deserving of this honorable title.

In the past 80 years, Marion has missed the Erie County Fair only once for her honeymoon. She arrives when the gate opens to beat the crowds, and spends most of her time admiring the animals. When Marion had children of her own, she began the tradition of family vacations to the Fair. Her daughter, Marcia, still recalls vividly wagon rides, the duck pond and pick-nicking in the family car as a child. Generations later, Marion enjoys all the Fair has to offer with her children and grandchildren.
