Fourth Annual Labatt Blue Buffalo Pond Hockey Tournament Quickly Sold Out!
BUFFALO, NY –( release) Labatt Blue beer today announced that the fourth annual Labatt Blue Buffalo Pond Hockey Tournament has officially sold out. One hundred twenty four teams, ranging from novice, intermediate, advanced and elite players from around the region will gear up, sticks and pucks in hand, for the games which begin Friday, February 11 through Sunday, February 13, 2011. This year, tournament organizers unveiled a new registration process designed to give teams more time to plan for the first-come, first-serve event.
“This year, we gave teams more than a two-week heads up between announcing the Labatt Blue Buffalo Pond Hockey Tournament dates and when registration would open on Jan. 1,” said Brett Carlsen, associate brand manager, Labatt Blue. “We’ve received positive feedback from the players and teams on the new process… and we’re thrilled to once again have a sold out tournament.”
Competing teams will be comprised of four to six players, 21 years of age and older, playing a four-on-four format, absent a goalie. Nets are six inches high and six feet wide like the goals used in the Labatt Blue US Adult Pond Hockey Championships held in Eagle River, Wisconsin. Teams will compete in a round robin format in one of 16 divisions. The winner of each bracket will go on to play a championship game.
Players who want to add their team to a growing waiting list should email tournament director Ed Ellis at email@example.com. For more information, players and fans can visit www.labattbluepondhockey.com.
