Fatal Accident

The Genesse County Sheriff's Office confirms to Eyewitness News that a 53-year-old man has died after crashing his pick-up truck.  The Sheriffs believe that Alan M. Jones of Basom, NY was travaling southbound on Judge Road in the Town of Alabama, when he lost control, drove off the road and hit an earth embankment.  Jones' vehical became airborne, rolled over and came to rest on its roof.  Jones was ejected from the vehicle.

Genesee County Coroner Jack Taylor pronounced Jones dead at the scene.  It is unknown if alcohol or speed will be contributing factors in the accident.

Benefit for Shooting Victim

A benefit for Frankie Militello will take place today at The Brounshidle Post in Kenmore.  Frankie and his girl friend Keile Coleman were shot back in March during a robbery.  Frankie has been in the Erie County Medical Center fighting for his life since.

Police Standoff

Cheektowaga Police and members of the SWAT Team ended a standoff at Genesee and Pendennis there shortly before 3pm.  Reports from the scene indicate a domestic dispute got worse after a man ended up locking himself up in his home with a loaded gun.  The woman involved in this incident was apparantly not in the home the man began the standoff.  Police and SWAT Team were called to the location just before Noon Sunday.  Cheektowaga Police confirm to Eyewitness News that the man will be charged with menacing.  Jenny Rizzo will have the full report at 6.  

JUNETEENTH Run
 
NYS Senator Antoine Thompson donated $25,000 to help organizers of this year's "Juneteenth" Festival.  Today is the second of "Sankofa Days" events which included a children's run, 5K and 10K through the streets of Buffalo.  WKBW-TV is a sponsor of Juneteenth, including the morning run.

Pride is Happening in Buffalo

Today is the annual Gay Pride Parade in Buffalo.  The parade is set to step off at 1pm and will make its way down Elmwood Avenue.  It ends at Bidwell Park where live entertainment and vendors can be enjoyed by all.  Eyewitness News' John Borsa will be at Bidwell Park hosting various events.
