"Feed the Children's" Americans Feeding American's Caravan has been traveling coast to coast, delivering care packages to people in the country's most poverty stricken communities.
Feed the Children partnered with Pepsico, Tops Friendly Markets and the Buffalo Dream Center to distribute the food and other necessities to 800 families on Buffalo's Westside, "If you take this neighborhood for example, nearly 80 percent of the children live below the poverty level, so I think every year we say the need is greater...and it's true.", said Pastor Eric Johns of The Buffalo Dream Center.
The Buffalo Dream Center pre-identified families receiving the boxes. Each family received a 25-pound box of food, a 10-pound box of personal care items and a box of Avon products. The boxes are designed to help a family of four up to one week. Feed The Children's Americans Feeding Americans Caravan has helped more than 300,000 families across the country since it began in 2009.

"We sincerely appreciate the tremendous contribution by PepsiCo, Tops Friendly Market and their employees to help children and families in Buffalo,” said Tony Sellars, spokesperson for Feed The Children. "Our Americans Feeding Americans project is geared toward people who are still being affected by the economic downturn, including many who until recently considered themselves middle class. A lot of these people for the first time in their lives have not been able to provide for their families and this distribution will provide relief for them at a crucial time.”
