Regional collections agency Continental Services Group, or ConServe, has a new 10-year lease at the Appletree Business Park. The Rochester-area based company hopes to move in this fall and add 40 new jobs.
Tops has a new three-year union contract with United Food and Commercial Workers, District Union Local One. The two sides agreed on health care benefits, wages and pension funds. The agreement covers 13,000 Tops employees in Upstate New York and Northern Pennsylvania.
In South Buffalo, Pellicano Specialty Foods is building a 2,000 square-foot pilot plant on Reading Street. Pellicano makes a variety of sauces under its brand and under private label.
The new pilot plant will be used by small food-processing and bottling companies. It should be ready to go by Oct. 1.
And Daemen College has been named a "2014 Great College to Work For" by the Chronicle of Higher Education. Daemen is one of five from New York State to make the list.. And the only one from Western New York.
