WNY Student Found Dead in the Adirondacks

PAUL SMITH'S, N.Y. (WKBW) A 19 year old Western New York college student has been found dead a short distance from his dorm at Paul Smith's College in the Adirondacks.

New York State Police report that the body of Nicolas G. Pendl of Allegany, New York was found on the shoreline of the Lower St. Regis Lake on Tuesday.

Pendl was found face-down in the water a short distance behind the Clinton dorms. The 19 year old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an autopsy it was determined that Pendl drowned after suffering a seizure. Pendl had a known, preexisting seizure disorder. Franklin County Coroner Ronald B. Keough ruled the manner of death to be accidental.
