Buffalo, NY (WKBW) - Sorrento Cheese Italian Heritage Festival of Buffalo, the second largest Italian street festival in the nation starts today on Hertel Avenue at 11:00 am and will end Sunday at 10:00 pm.
“La Famiglia” will be the theme this year as the new Entertainment Director Frankie Scinta MCs and performs with other headliners like Louis Prima Jr., Beatle Magic, and the Junction West Band.
The Jazz Stage at Hertel and Corner Avenue also has performers such as the The Buffalo Rat Pack, Comedian Ray Canale, and Billy McEwen & The Soul Invaders.
Other Special Events include the Italian Idol, Miss Italian Festival, Bocce Tournament, Dancing Under the Stars, and numerous cooking demonstrations with food tastings and multiple cultural demonstrations.
The Board of Sorrento Cheese Italian Heritage Festival has named Senator Mark Grisanti this years "Gran Ceremoniere".
