Cleveland, OH (WKBW) – With all the hustle and bustle of life, sometimes you really have to consciously think about relaxing. There are simple ways to relax whether it is in the office, at school or during your lunch break.

Doctors at the Cleveland Clinic suggest one easy solution to stress, simply smile more often. They say even if you don’t feel like smiling, do it anyway. They said just the action makes the muscles in your face loosen, while also helping change your mindset. They said it also generates more positivity around you.

Another very easy way to release stress is to breath. Usually people take very shallow breaths, but that does not do the trick. Doctors said you must take a few deep breaths in and out. They said you can also take a breath, then release it with a smile.

Doing Tai Chi or yoga on a lunch break can also do wonders for your stress level.

“He analogy that I use is you cannot have stress in a relaxed body. So, even if you relax your face and facial muscles, which there are many of them and they are very integrated, the message to the brain is quite intense. You might notice that you are tense, you're holding your shoulders like this. Maybe your back, so when you notice this you can mentally go and relax yourself,” Dr. Mladin Golubik said.

They said exercise might also help you relax. It has the added cardiovascular and muscular benefits. The doctor said no matter how much you try to relax, it might be difficult unless you identify the major stressor in your day. Then, they said make a change or use these methods to deal with that stress.
