NORTH TONAWANDA, NY (WKBW) - A section of River Road is without power, after police say 20-year-old Emily Harrison hit a utility pole in North Tonawanda. Harrison is facing several charges including DWI. The crash happened just before 4 a.m. Thursday.

Police say she was driving on River Road near Goundry Street and hit the curb, blowing out a tire. She then traveled northbound in the southbound lane until she hit a utility pole, causing a chain reaction, taking down eight other poles on River Road near Island Street.

National Grid is on the scene fixing the poles. There were 30 businesses without power, but as of right now only three remain effected by the crash.
