Police Have Tentative Identification Of The Body Found In North Buffalo

(Buffalo, NY) - Buffalo police now have a tentative identification of the male who was found stabbed and burned in the fields in the vicinity of 534 Colvin Avenue.

Police are withholding the name until family members can be properly notified.

Homicide Squad detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding this homicide.

According to a news release from Buffalo Police Spokesperson Michael DeGeorge, a passerby spotted the man in a wooded area near the old railroad tracks in the 500-block of Colvin Avenue, near Taunton Place at 7:45 pm on July 6th.

The medical examiner's office has ruled the man's death a homicide.
