Imagine being stopped by men who you think are law enforcement then they rob, beat and shoot you in the hand. That's what a Buffalo couple said happen to them Monday morning. The police are now investigating and the suspects are still on the loose.

A man in his 50's was driving down Welker Street in Buffalo when four men wearing F.B.I jackets and badges stopped him.

They got into the car and force the man at gunpoint to drive to his home on Sussex Street near the ECMC complex. Once in the house, they began to ransack the home. The victim said then the on man pistol whipped his wife and shot him in the hand.

The suspect got away with a number of items including expensive jewelry.

Channel 7 talked to a neighbor who wanted to remain anonymous. He said he fears for his life and is trying to make the area a safer place.

"I feel bad man. I don't walk out my door because when you go out you leave your keys because they'll follow you," the neighbor said.

Both of the victims were taken to the hospital, treated and released.

The man says the suspects got away in a newer model Dodge Ram Truck with a strip down the hood and tinted windows.
