(Fredonia, NY) It has been a destructive year for vandalism in Fredonia.
In June, vandals damaged 40 cars at Valone Ford.
During the first week of October, vandals struck again - targeting more cars and buildings in the Village of Fredonia.
The criminal mischief caused damage which totaled into the "tens of thousands of dollars," says Fredonia Police Chief Bradley Meyers.
Now a resident has donated $1000 to be used as a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the vandals.
The angry citizen wishes to remain anonymous, but tells authorities that she was "heartbroken" to see the random acts of vandalism.
Previously, another Fredonia resident had donated $100 for the reward fund.
"It shows the passion that this community has for stopping this type of crime," adds Police Chief Meyers.
Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call the Fredonia Police Department at 679-1531.
