(Buffalo, NY) Doris Strathman Gilbert celebrated her 102nd birthday by returning to her Alma Mater: City Honors School in Buffalo.
Joined by four generations of her family, students at City Honors presented Doris with hand made cards, a City Honors sweater, and treated her to songs from the choral group.
Doris is the oldest known almuma from City Honors, graduating in 1927.
At the time, the school was called Masten Park High School, and the school's first principal, Frank Fosdick, was still working.
"Oh, he was great," says Doris.
The Gilbert family, who came from as far away as Florida to be part of the event, presented City Honors with two plaques in Doris Gilbert's honor.
The plaques will be mounted on pillars by the school's famous outdoor staircase.
"It was a wonderful school. I couldn't ask for anything more," adds Doris Gilbert.
