He's the most interesting man in Western New York. Jim Sandoro, the founder of the Pierce Arrow Museum has some of the most incredible stories you could ever hear.
He's friends with Robert DeNiro, he met his wife in the most serendipitous way and he's had dinner with former and current presidents. He's now on an episode of 'American Pickers', an antique hunters show which airs on the History Channel.
Sandoro was contacted by longtime friends who work on the show about an opportunity to buy an original 1904 Jell-o wagon from LeRoy. The wagon changed advertising at the turn of the century, taking advantage of an untapped mobile marketing strategy.
The wagon has original paint and hasn't been retouched since it was bought on the show. It joins Sandoro's collection of one-of-a-kind vehicles in the spacious downtown museum.
The original Jell-o wagon will be unveiled on Saturday at an 'American Pickers' event, tickets are still available. VIP dinner tickets are $125 per person. General admission tickets are $50. The museum offers more than just cars. The expansive collection hosts a brand new bicycle exhibit, showcasing bikes made in Western New York, the 'most famous gas station in the world' a Frank Lloyd Wright filling station, a women in transportation hall of fame and even a classic toy exhibit for kids.
