School just wrapped up for another year at my house, and thankfully, my little one will now move up to second grade this fall!
With homework, school events, and packed lunches behind us, you would think things would start calming down around our house. Not so much.
Just two days into this break, we are busier than ever!
The wet spring we had put me behind on a lot of my outdoor chores. And, while I would like to quietly enjoy the lazy, hazy days of summer, I have a 7-year old who wants to have fun!
So, now I join the legions of parents out there who have to find ways to keep our kids busy this summer. We started by signing up for synchronized swimming. That's as far as I've gotten!
This is actually a good time for me. Working the night shift makes it difficult for me to see my daughter, who gets out of school right when I have to be at work. Now, we can spend mornings and part of the afternoon together!
Summer in Western New York also means a lot of outdoor events involving family and friends. After all, we have to cram everything into the few months we have!
This year, I have three graduations, one college and two high school. Also, a wedding and an Independence Day party, not to mention, I'm throwing my own celebration for my daughter's college graduation.
Yes, summer vacation is here!!! It doesn't last too long in these parts, so we are going to enjoy it! I hope you do, too!
