Williamsville, N.Y., April 10, 2014 - The Sisters of St. Francis will host their 12th annual Food & Wine Tasting on Tuesday, May 6 at St. Mary of the Angels, 201 Reist Street, in Williamsville. The tasting will take place from
5-7 p.m., and all proceeds will benefit the sisters’ important ministries throughout Western New York and beyond.

Jerry and Barb Mazurkiewicz and Reg and Carol Newman will serve as this year’s honorary hosts. Mr. Mazurkiewicz is a partner with Dopkins & Company, a Western New York accounting firm located in Williamsville. He has been involved in mission advancement efforts with the Sisters of St. Francis for many years. He and Barbara are past chairs of the Food & Wine Tasting and are both involved with a number of other Western New York charities. They reside in West Seneca.

Mr. Newman was employed by NOCO energy Corp., a diversified distributor and retailer of petroleum and other energy related products, since 1960, attaining the position of chairman in 1998. He is currently a director of the Rand Capital Corporation, the Dunn Tire Corporation and Taylor Devices, Inc. He and Carol are also past chairs of the Food & Wine Tasting and have supported the sisters for many years. They reside in Williamsville and Florida.

Georgetown Square Wine & Liquors will again provide the fine wine to be served at the event. Attendees will also be able to sample gourmet food, and bid on an array of attractive items in silent and live auctions. Thom Diina and Ray Chamberlain will provide live entertainment, and Cash Cunningham will serve as auctioneer for the live auction.

Auction items include: two Jet Blue roundtrip airline tickets to anywhere that Jet Blue flies; one week in a beautiful condo at Siesta Key, Florida; a private wine tasting party for 12 at Georgetown Square Wine & Liquor; Dinner for 8 prepared and served by the Sisters; gas, food, dinner & sports packages & more.

The event will also feature the ever-popular “Nun-Sweeter” Bake Sale and “Nun-Better” chocolates, and all attendees will receive souvenir wine glasses and hors d’oeuvre trays.
