Author and illustrator of books on trout and aquatic wildlife, James Prosek dedicated his life to depicting, advocating for and writing about these creatures. His efforts earned him Philadelphia’s Academy of Natural Sciences Gold Medal for Distinction in Natural History Art, a Peabody Award and an editor’s choice spot in The New York Times Book Review.
In addition to his literary and artistic efforts to advocate for trout, Prosek co-founded the World Trout Initiative with Patagonia Outdoor Clothing owner, Yvon Chouinard in 2004. The duo raises money for cold water habitat conservation efforts by selling T-shirts that feature trout paintings by Prosek himself and other artists.
The Prince Lecture Series at Nichols School was established by Sidney Warren Prince, Jr. ’47 in memory of his parents.
