The decision to downsize can be an overwhelming one to make, particularly for seniors with large homes and no family nearby to help tackle all that goes in to a move. In fact, the number one reason seniors are reluctant to sell their home is that sense of dread about where to start. What do you need to do to ensure you get the most from the sale of your home? What do you need to get rid of? Who’s out there to help if your families can’t be there for you?
All of these questions and more will be answered when Asbury Pointe Retirement Community hosts a “Downsizing Your Home to Upsize Your Lifestyle” seminar on Thursday, May 1 at 11:00 a.m. Asbury Point is located at 50 Stahl Road, Getzville, NY 14068.
Mary Croglio, Relocation Director for Hunt Real Estate, will talk about the Western New York real estate market; how best to market your property for sale; developing a timeline; selecting a Realtor and the type of buyer you’re looking for. Larry Raines, President of Caring Transitions – which specializes in downsizing, relocation and estate sales – will offer strategies to make the moving and liquidation process go more smoothly. Seminar guests will learn how downsizing and retirement community living will leave them plenty of time to enjoy an independent lifestyle free of home maintenance, housekeeping, cooking and stress. Tours of Asbury Pointe will be given at seminar’s end.
The seminar is free and open to the public; however, seating is limited, so reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 716.810.7500.
