This month's Women In Leadership Honoree helps keep the Western New York community safe from hazardous materials.

Susanne Kelley has had a steady rise in her field, after starting her own environmental firm and that's why she was chosen to be part of our Women In Leadership series. Eyewitness News Anchor Joanna Pasceri has her story.
At Sienna Environmental Technologies in Buffalo, painstaking lab work is underway to detect hazardous materials, like asbestos, lead and mold.
President and Founder Susanne Kelley started the business in 2000. Now, she oversees 20 employees and hundreds of clients.
The West Seneca native graduated from Buffalo State College with a degree in physical geography. She worked for three years at a local environmental consulting firm, before branching out on her own.
It's a growing field, especially in this region where there are a lot of historic buildings.
Susanne says women are capable of being good leaders, but often lack the confidence. She says her female intuition has helped her business succeed and keeps her employees happy.
