- How much money can I save off my utility bill?
- Aside from saving yourself the uncomfortable feeling from cold floors and window wall perimeter drafts that cause the drapes to move and no control over winter’s cold blasts and summer’s heat and humidity, foam insulation can save you 35% or more off your energy costs year round. Superior Insulation has a list of previous customers who have saved anywhere from $100.00 per month to upwards of $1,000.00 per month.
- I only have 1 room in my home that is exceptionally cold, do you have to do the entire house?
- The nature of SMART INSULATION (foam) is that it expands approximately 100 times in only 3-8 seconds. The foam migrates to all areas where voids let the energy escape out of your home. Superior Insulation can isolate the areas that lack proper insulation and remedy the problem areas only, so the home owner can be comfortable and start to see the savings and results of foam insulation.
- Can you just add to the existing insulation?
- YES!! In fact many of our routine insulations are made to be compatible with existing insulation. For example, we have an attic lift and seal method where we flip over your blanket insulation and use our proven spray foam over your ceilings and then reapply your fiberglass over our foam insulation. We also have wall insulations that press against fiberglass and add R-16 to your wall for extra comfort and even more savings!
- How much disruption to my home does a typical job create?
- Attic jobs are usually a 1 day affair and will have very little to no disruption at all. Most foam insulation jobs are operated from the outside of the home and is accessed from under the current siding of the home. Brick homes are accessed from a small 3/8” hole that is drilled through the mortar joint where 3 bricks come together and after full impaction is made the hole is then repointed with matching mortar. At Superior Insulation, we strive to make the home owner as comfortable as possible before , during and certainly after the process of applying foam insulation.
- How much does Foam Insulation cost?
- Spray Polyurethane Foam is sometimes twice the cost of fiberglass insulation, but spray foam is 3-4 times more efficient than fiberglass at sealing in the heat in winter and keeping the heat and humidity out in the summer. In instances where 14”-24” inches of fiberglass has been removed in a ceiling due to mold issues and was replaced with 6” inches of foam insulation it was found to outperform the fiberglass by 100%.
